Western saddles, bridles, and more
All are Traditional or 1:9 scale unless noted
Mahogany ranch saddle
My header set, this was my third Rio Rondo kit saddle, made using an alternate pattern. It featured a woven cinch and breastcollar, braided reins, hammered aluminum rigging dees, saddle strings, and a latigo cinch.
Made in late 2010, sold to B. Manley. A set like this with all the customization, woven cinch and breastcollar, and matching bridle and tiedown will cost $325.
More photos and information can be found at my Flickr album here.

Western bridle and tiedown
Matching bridle to above saddle. The set was made for larger Traditionals such as the Breyer Ruffian mold (as here), and the Stone Palouse.
Curb bridle and tiedown set
A custom order and a duplicate of the above bridle and tiedown. The only difference is I used a TWMHC bit instead of a Rio Rondo one. A set like this will run $65.
Bosal hackamore with fiador knot
c. September 2011. More photos can be seen here at my Flickr album, and you can read about its creation at my blog here (Blogger). Links open in new windows. Sold on eBay.
1:12 scale bosal hackamore with fiador
c. October 2012. Same style of bridle as the Traditional, only with one sheet bend knot this time (see below). And the mecate is braided, not twisted. This is currently for sale for $65.
.
Left side showing the sheet bend and lash knots, as well as the fiador. The "jug knot" here is actually two overhand knots. I could not tie a jug knot that small...
Natural braided curb bridle
Made for a Lareda resin that was being painted at the time by my sister. You can get your resins painted AND have tack made for them at the same time here! :)
The bit is a white bronze Susler Saddlery curb bit, distributed by The Wolrd Of Model Horse Collecting on eBay.
c. 2009, a bridle like this will run $35, which includes the cost of the bit from Rio Rondo or TWMHC, and it will come with punched holes and working tongue buckles (I was not doing this at the time the bridle was made).

Leather breastcollar
These attach with mini lanyards when I can find them, or hand-formed wire "clips" when I can't. Rio Rondo photoetched "clips" can be used on request.
A simple leather b/c, dyed to order with stitchmarking, will cost $25 ppd.

Woven breastcollar and cinch
These are made using DMC pearl thread with floss accents. The breastcollar's saddle ring and girth attachments are adjustable, and there is a ring strung onto the chest strap to run the tiedown strap through.
I make all of my saddle cinches attach with billets on the off side and latigo straps on the near side. I can make both sides attach with billets on request.
I am still experimenting with fancier woven decorations, what is shown is what is offered at this time. I can get pearl thread in a variety of colors and floss in an even bigger variety.
A set like this will cost $50 ppd.
